Projects at Georgian Grade II listed property, Dawlish

We have hired Brownlie Woodworks Limited to complete two large jobs at our Georgian Grade II listed property in Dawlish.
The first was in 2018 when Dave and his team completely renovated our wooden frame conservatory. He worked on the project during the Autumn period and the project was a huge success. He replaced the plastic roof with a glass roof. along with renovating the existing timber frame structure, it has completely rejuvenated the whole house.
The second project is an innovative re-build of our old shed/former stables to the original property, transforming it into a garden office with toilet and tea making facilities. Dave and the team have had to work really creatively with the old building as listed planning permission meant we had to retain some of the original walls which are cob. The Team have constructed a whole new timber framed building on the inside and re-clad the exterior to make it look like it has always been there. They have also constructed a 3 m x 9 m deck as part of this project as well. This project has run from September to March 2020/2021.
We recommend Brownlie Woodworks because Dave is a really creative problem solver, he works tirelessly to make the project work for his client. Often on our home, because of it’s age, the challenges of renovating mean that straight forward easy solutions are not the most appropriate. Dave has a great way of really thinking around the problem and finding the most appropriate solution.
